Tensions high between Saif & KJo at IIFA 2017?

IIFA 2017 which took place last week in New York city, certainly brought the glitz and glamour of B-town to the big apple. However, backstage there was a bit of tension brewing between Saif Ali Khan and Karan Johar.

According to DNA India, not all was right on the night when Ali Khan and Johar co-hosted the event together. The ‘Phantom’ (2015) actor apparently wasn’t happy with the way Johar wasn’t always sticking to the script when presenting. During the IIFA preparations, the duo had rehearsed their lines, jokes, skits, etc, with Ali Khan wanting to ensure they both had equal time to deliver these, but Johar started to go off-script which didn’t go down too well with Ali Khan. A source said, “On stage, Saif suddenly found Karan changing the lines. He took it in his stride for a while, but his resentment at being upstaged couldn’t be concealed.”

The ‘Bullett Raja’ (2012) shared his frustrations with others from the industry, word then reached Johar about Ali Khan’s feelings. A close source to Johar said, “It’s not clear how this happened, because the hosts always read from the teleprompter. Karan is so comfortable on stage, so he may have said some spontaneous things to improvise, which may have disturbed his co-host. But I doubt he did that to steal Saif’s thunder.”
