Ten Sports announces free cricket webcasts

Popular Asian broadcaster, Ten Sports and NBC Universal have announced a strategic partnership to offer a free, cricket-focused multiplatform via the channel’s website.

The Ten Sports website will debut with live webcast coverage of the much anticipated Compaq Cup, the triangular cricket series between India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka starting on Tuesday 8th September.

The portal will feature live webcast of full cricket matches that encompass exclusive content from half of the world�۪s cricket boards including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.

The video experience will be complimented by commentary and statistics, and will allow viewers to simultaneously chat with friends and family and other passionate fans during live Webcasts.

In addition to providing live Webcasts of cricket matches, the Ten Sports website will also offer on-demand highlights during live matches, so fans can catch up on memorable moments of action. These highlights will be hosted permanently on the site.

Incidentally, Ten Sports, which is partly owned by ZEE Network has a deal in place to broadcast the matches in question on ZEE Cinema UK. The online offering will not be available in the UK.
