Tata Group to replace Vivo as IPL’s headline sponsor

Tata Group is set to replace Chinese mobile manufacturer, Vivo, as sponsor of the IPL.

Chairman Brijesh Patel has been reported telling news agencies that the new deal will take effect from next year. It is said that Vivo still has two years left in its sponsorship.

Vivo struck a deal with the BCCI for title sponsorship worth around Rs. 2,200 crore from 2018 – 2022 but due to political reasons, Vivo took a break from the sponsorship, with Dream11 coming on board for a year. Vivo returned as sponsor in 2021.

When Tata takes over as sponsor, the tournament will reportedly be known as Tata IPL.
