ZEE TV is in revamp mode with a slew of new shows starting over the next few days. After BizAsia revealed that ‘Sarojini’ and ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ will be launching this month, the next big news is that Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Jodha Kapoor’ will be ending in August to be replaced with ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’.

ZEE TV business head Pradeep Hejmadi said, “‘Jodha Akbar۪ is a marquee, brand-defining property that has propelled the channel to new heights. It is a tent-pole show that generated immense advertiser interest. Over the course of its glorious run, it connected very well with the audiences as it explored aspects of Jodha and Akbar۪s relationship that not many were privy to. In its final leg now, it is bound to generate tremendous audience traction as viewers are bound to tune in to the grand culmination of this iconic love story.۝

‘Jodha Akbar’ has been under the scanner for a number of weeks and while rumours had been doing the rounds of the show being axed, its officially been confirmed. The show has proved a huge hit in the 20:00 slot and thus ‘Tashan-e-Ishq’ has a big job on its hand to maintain the slot. Tashan-e-Ishq۪ is a love story produced by ZEEL۪s content production arm Essel Vision Productions. The show will revolve around Yuvraj and Twinkle against the backdrop of Punjab.

‘Tashan-e-Ishq’ is expected to launch mid-August.
