Tasha Tah, Junai Kaden, Char Avell, Sharan Sharma at Freedom app launch

Last night (Tuesday 5th March) Asian music artists Tasha Tah, Junai Kaden and Char Avell, along with presenter Sharan Sharma from Buzz Radio, attended the launch event for the Freedom Charity forced marriage smartphone app at Lancaster House near Buckingham Palace.

The event was hosted by Aneeta Prem of Freedom Charity in conjunction with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), home of the Forced Marriage Unit. Mark Simmonds MP gave the introductory speech, and guests included Labour’s Lord Toby Harris, Siobhain McDonagh MP, Tracy Edwards MBE and senior members of the Forced Marriage Unit and the Met Police.

The three artists and their manager, Yaz, were warmly received at the event, and have been tweeting support for the work of Freedom Charity to their fanbase, who are among the target audience for the app.

The app, which is designed to help at-risk children and professionals access vital services, is available for iOS and Android viawww.freedomcharity.org.uk
