Tanushree Dutta confirms short film ‘Inspiration’ on Bollywood’s #MeToo movement

After making some noise about sexual harassment in the Indian film industry, Tanushree Dutta is set to re-spark the #MeToo movement in Bollywood with a short digital film called ‘Inspiration’.

To coincide with International Women’s Day on 8th March, the film focuses on young newcomers where they are used inappropriately by big figure heads.

She was cited in Mid-Day saying, “It deals with the issue of wilful exploitation of young newcomers in showbiz or any other field where they don’t have mentors or guidance. It is a new format where reality meets fiction.”

She added, “I wrote the dialogues, inspired by my own insight and understanding on the matter. I was excited to face the camera after nine years because this time, I was not only entertaining but also imparting wisdom to the misled and unfortunate.”

Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment during the shoot of their film ‘Horn Ok Please’ in 2008. Patekar has denied the claims.
