In the forthcoming ‘Fitoor’, Tabu stepped into the shoes of Rekha who opted out of the film. However, it’s emerged that Tabu was indeed director Abhishek Kapoor’s first choice for the role.
In a recent interview with the New Indian Express, Tabu confirmed this, “I was the first choice for this character in Fitoor. Abhishek always wanted me to be a part of this film. We spoke a few times but later things changed. He decided to cast Rekha because of the chemistry with lead actors”.
She plays the role of Miss Havisham which has revengeful streaks. Speaking about her character, the actress reveals, “The character in Fitoor has become unloving because of the experience she has had in real life. It is a reaction to what happened to her. The real person would have come out in a different circumstance. Unfortunately, she is stuck in the time when she was hurt. My character is affecting the love story. She is the one who has an influence in the life of both the boy and girl.”
‘Fitoor’ is set for release on 12th February, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif.
