Tabu chooses ‘Golmaal 4′ over ‘Aami’?

National treasure Tabu has repeatedly spoken about not being paid enough in the industry, which has managed to pick up support from her fellow stars.

“And why should she not be paid well? Tabu is a national treasure. She should be paid accordingly,” a senior actress said speaking out in Tabu’s demand for pay parity.

Apparently her voice has now been heard after she has reportedly been offered a large amount of money to do the fourth instalment of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise with her long-time friend Ajay Devgn. Devgn was her co-star in her first commercial film ‘Vijaypath’ (1994).

However, the casualty of Tabu’s plans is the Malayalam biopic ‘Aami,’ based on author Kamala Das, reports Bollywood Hungama. Tabu saying yes to the new ‘Golmaal’ movie would be at the expense of ‘Aami.’

A source close to the biopic says, “We don’t know what happened. But Tabu was in negotiations to play Kamal Das. She is a South Indian, well-read and very literary-minded. She showed a keen interest in the project. The next thing we hear are announcements of Golmaal. We wish her all the best.”
