Taapsee on sexual allegations against Anurabh Kumar

TVF CEO Anurabh Kumar has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately, with a few big names from the Indian film industry, accusing him of sexually harassing them. However, with the details still not clear, there are some who aren’t so sure these allegations are the complete truth, including Taapsee Pannu.

Talking to the media, Hindustan Times reported the actress expressing, “When I heard about this, I picked up the phone to speak to some people at TVF. But I have been hearing completely opposite stories. It’s very confusing. But there are some women who have come out in the open with their names, alleging harassment. It is difficult to believe that someone would lie about being molested, especially when their identities and backgrounds are out in the open.”

She went on to add, “I have told my friends who work there to keep me updated. There are too many stories doing the rounds and at this point, it’s very difficult for me to form an opinion.”

The news surfaced when an anonymous blogger wrote about how the CEO behaved inappropriately with her, after which many others came out claiming he did the same to them.

The focus on Pannu’s interest in the case comes from her being such a huge hit for her role in ‘Pink’ (2017), which addresses the issue of feminism, gender equality and raises the issues of the way society treats women.

Pannu will next be seen in Shivam Nair’s ‘Naam Shabana’ which also stars Akshay Kumar, Prithiviraj Sukumaran, Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee.
