Taapsee Pannu reunites with ‘Mulk’ director Anubhav Sinha for ‘Thappad’

With women-centric films like ‘Pink’ (2016), ‘Naam Shabana’ (2017) and ‘Mulk’ (2018), Taapsee Pannu has proven her acting talent. And from that she has made her way to several filmmakers’ list of bankable stars.

After playing the role of a lawyer in the social drama ‘Mulk,’ the star is reuniting with director Anubhav Sinha for an upcoming film, ‘Thappad.’ The socio-political drama starring Pannu will be based on real-life incidents, reports India Today.

Reports say that the film is scheduled to go on floors in late August and will be shot in Delhi. ‘Thappad’ is touted to be a women-oriented film in which Pannu has been roped in to play a middle-class girl.

“Anubhav had decided on casting her while they were still shooting Mulk. It’s a women-oriented subject that defies narratives typecasting women. It questions the society and will deliver a poignant message on world domination by women,” a source said.

According to reports, the director is planning to release the movie on International Women’s Day weekend next year.
