Taapsee Pannu looking to do more light-hearted films

Gaining huge appreciation for her performances in ‘Pink’ (20016) and ‘Naam Shabana’ (2017), Taapsee Pannu recently spoke to the media about her attempt in succeeding in less serious films as well.

Not impressing her audiences as much in ‘Judwaa 2’ (2017), New Indian Express reported the actress stating, “I think the audience has loved me so much in this type (referring to serious) of a role that they are not ok seeing me there. I am like, let me do it for my breathing space. I don’t know if I should feel good or bad about it. But I am still waiting and struggling to get a film like ‘Judwaa 2’ again to shift gears.”

Already being well established in South cinema, Pannu does have the flexibility of being more choosy there, to the point where she decided to take a share of a films profit after it’s success, rather than taking a payment before the film, so that the film makers could stick to a budget. “I shared the profit with my producers as that film had no hero but the concept was brilliant. I understand the plight of the producer when there is no hero. I know the budget will not be more and so I did not charge from my side but I asked for a profit share,” the actress explained.

Though she understand that she has a long way to go in order for her to do something like that in Bollywood, Pannu believes that she has what it takes to get there, as she added, “I might do that (profit sharing) in the future. The audience here knows me but not as prominently as it is there. The day the audiences know me well here too and come to watch my films I will do that.”

Pannu will next be seen sharing the screen with Diljit Dosanjh and Angad Bedi in ‘Soorma’, out today.
