Taapsee Pannu: “I have lost films to star-kids”

Taapsee Pannu, following the success of ‘Pink’ (2016), is one actress on everyone’s radar at the moment. However, without any previous association as such to the industry, she’s making her journey on her own terms.

Talking about her film choices and how flops would have affected her career, Pannu is quoted by Mumbai Mirror, “I knew if I delivered a flop, I wouldn’t get five-six opportunities like industry kids do. I have lost films to star kids but I always knew nepotism exists here so I was ready to work harder than others”.

She also spoke about her own team and the faith they didn’t appear to have in her, “When your own team tells you this, it comes as a big shock. I broke down for a while but then told myself that someone else can’t decide how good or bad I am and write me off. That’s when I decided to handle my career all by myself”.

She added that her family are still a little alien to her popularity, ““My mom, after every film tells me ‘Ab tujhe acting aa gayi hai.’ I don’t know which film she is referring to”.

Pannu will be seen next in ‘RunningShaadi.com’ and ‘Judwaa 2’.
