Taapsee Pannu on gaining power via social media

Just like many of her peers, Taapsee Pannu is an extremely popular social media user with a great following. However, again like her peers, she has also fallen victim to Internet trolls who express extreme negative comments about her. Talking to the media, Pannu expresses that it does more damage to someone than anyone could imagine.

“I think with the power social media has given us, it is so easy to mock someone nowadays. What people don’t understand is that it can genuinely crush someone’s confidence,” Ahmedabad Mirror reports the actress expressing.

She went on to say, “Just because a woman does not walk by conventional rules, people like to call her by different names which is highly upsetting,”

Understanding that this is a huge problem around the world, Pannu will be the first celebrity to appear on a new reality TV show in India, where celebs come face to face with their trolls. Title ‘Troll Police’ Pannu will confront a student from Lucknow names Ashish. “I too have been trolled, and through this show, I really want to convey the message to youngsters out there that do not use internet anonymity to shed the veneer of decency,” she said.

Having his own blog, Ashish has trolled Pannu on different media platforms. Talking about how it has affected her, Pannu revealed, “t’s humiliating! After achieving so much as an independent woman, this is how you get appreciated by the men of our society. After reading comments, sometimes I feel I opted for a wrong profession. Going forward if you see any of your friend or relative trolling someone then please share this experience with them.”
