Much has been said about Bollywood producers and how and who they cast. Kangna Ranaut has been very vocal about the topic and recently gave an interview on the same. Taapsee Pannu was one of the many names that Ranaut took and Pannu does not agree with the statements made.
Pannu stated, “First of all, I don’t think my existence has got anything to do with looks primarily. I don’t have any film of mine which is produced by any of these gangs that she keeps targeting. I never mentioned anywhere that ‘I like Karan Johar or anyone she alleges, but I have never said ‘I hate them either’. So the fact that you don’t hate someone she hates, is equivalent to you like that person? I don’t even know him beyond formal, ‘hi, hello’s and thank you’. So how is this even logical? None of my past or future films are being produced by any of that mafia she keeps mentioning then how is my existence because of nepotism? Or undermining someone’s genuine achievements by crediting wrong sources and then mocking it is how you prove that you are a true successful outsider?”
Ranaut has primarily named producers Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, and Mahesh Bhatt in her nepotism debate.
