The success of last year’s ‘Barfi!’ seems to be paying off for director Anurag Basu who has recently bagged a huge film deal. It has come to light that Bhushan Kumar of T-Series has agreed a deal of Rs 12 crores with Basu.
The deal is such that Basu will also walk away with a part of the profit should the film make any. A source spoke to Mumbai Mirror, “A deal has been signed between the two and Anurag has been offered Rs 12 crore and a partnership. The project details will be discussed soon”.
The insider continued, “Anurag is busy with Jagga Jasoos and after that he will be doing a film based on the life of Kishore Kumar. Bhushan, on the other hand, has been on a signing spree. He has roped in quite a few talented directors in an attempt to create strong slate for his banner”.
The film will be a joint production between T-Series and Basu’s Picture Shuru Productions (which is a joint production house of Basu’s and Ranbir Kapoor’s).
