T-Series set to become world’s most subscribed YouTube channel

T-Series is set to officially be crowned the most subscribed to channel on YouTube in the world.

It has been close on the heels of rival, PewDiePie, owned by a Swedish video-game geek and funny man. PewDiePie has been reigning supreme as the No.1 YouTube channel with most subscribers for the past five years. It will now officially be knocked off from the top next month.

T-Series operates 29 channels, with a combined subscriber base of 100 million. Its flagship service has been adding three million subscribers a month and will be the first non-English service to take the top spot.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Bhushan Kumar, T-Series CEO, said, “This digital era is fantastic. It’s here to stay. It’s giving us popularity. It’s giving us recognition.”
