T-Series copyright strikes team of ‘Singham Again’ for use of title track
With ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ set for a big box office face-off this Diwali, T-Series has filed a copyright claim against the makers of ‘Singham Again’ for using the ‘Singham’ title track, the rights of which belong to the music label.
It’s worth noting that T-Series is also backing ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,’ the other major Diwali release. The well-known label issued the copyright claim because the track incorporated some elements from the original Singham (2011) theme, over which T-Series retains rights. Consequently, director Rohit Shetty and his team had to remove the title track from all platforms, revise it, and re-upload the updated version on Tuesday afternoon.
A source explained, “The song included a 10-second portion from the original Singham theme. T-Series flagged the content as using anything over three seconds without copyright ownership isn’t allowed. Bhushan Kumar’s company raised the copyright claim, and the track had to be pulled down. Ideally, Singham Again’s team could have reached out to settle the matter directly.”

Saregama, the film’s music partner, re-uploaded the track on Tuesday after composer Ravi Basrur made necessary adjustments to remove the disputed sections. Fans and industry insiders are speculating that the copyright claim could be part of a strategic move by T-Series amid the impending clash between Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy and Ajay Devgn’s action thriller. Another source noted, “Since the Singham Again team re-uploaded the track, it lost its original YouTube viewership and likes.”
