Sussanne awarded custody of sons post divorce with Hrithik Roshan

BizAsia reported yesterday that the much-loved childhood sweethearts, Hrithik and Sussanne Roshan, had officially filed for a divorce having been separated since December. It has emerged that Sussanne has been awarded custody of the couples sons, Hridaan and Hrehaan.

A hearing took place yesterday morning when Hrithik returned to Mumbai from the US following the IIFAs. The couple, who have been married for 10 years and together for 17 years, attended a court and officially filed for divorce. Lawyer Dipesh Mehta told Mid-Day, ���I am representing both Hrithik and Sussanne; they have filed for divorce by mutual consent. The counsellor has submitted the report and the next hearing will take place on October 31. The custody of their kids, Hrehaan and Hridaan, has been awarded to Sussanne.�۝

When the separation first happened, both released statements with Hrithik�۪s being a lot more emotional than Sussanne�۪s. In the days following, both friends and family of the duo were requesting that they be left to deal with the separation privately in the hope for reconciliation. A source close to them said, ���As their friends, we support their decision, but we had hoped that things would end differently. The kids will now be with Sussanne and Hrithik did not object to this. In fact, no allegations have been made by either party�۝.

No doubt there will still be a heartbreaking feeling for fans with the couple having stood together through the years in both happy and sad times.
