Sushmita Sen to appear before Chennai’s trial court

BizAsiaLive.com has learnt that Sushmita Sen is due to appear in a Chennai trial court due to an allegation of importing an expensive car.

New Indian Express reports Justice R Suresh Kumar stating, “Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is directed to appear before the trial court on September 18 which falls on Monday for providing evidence. On the said day, the trial judge, after concluding matters of calling and emergency matters, shall take up this matter and cross-examine the petitioner. The same shall be completed the same day. Jurisdictional police is directed to give protection to the petitioner and her belongings”.

The case was reported by Customs Department and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and an arrest warrant for Sen was cancelled.
