With Mumbai Police investigating the sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the actor’s three-film contract with production giant, Yash Raj Films reveals that he was paid Rs. 1 crore for ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’.
According to reports, Rajput who starred in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ opposite Parineeti Chopra, was his first film a part of the deal. He was paid Rs. 30 lakh for it. However, he was paid a lot more for ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy’, even though it was stated he was to be paid Rs. 60 lakh. His third film with the banner, ‘Paani’ helmed by Shekhar Kapur, was shelved.
Rajput died by suicide on 14th June 2020. His death is being investigated by Mumbai Police.
