Starting off as a dancer at choreographer Shiamak Davar’s world famous academy, Sushant Singh Rajput had a short but successful career in television before h found himself with his first box office success in Abhishek Kapoor directorial ‘Kai Po Che'(2013). However, acting and performing arts is not his only passion, with the young gentleman having an equal interest in sports and fitness, evidenced by his impressive physique, and various film making techniques.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor was honest in his revelation that he was happy with his success so far but had realised, in hindsight, he should have enjoyed hischildhood which was spent dreaming about the present time goal he had finally achieved. Said Singh Rajput, “The badpart is that, as a kid, you think that, one day, you will get famous and rich, and that will be the answer to everything. But when that actually happens, you realise how wrong those perceptions were.”

A self confessed introvert, the only other negative aspect of celebrity was the speculation on his personal life, which the ‘Shuddh Desi Romance'(2013) actor felt was part and parcel of his career choice, “The reason I wanted to become an actor was because acting allowed someone as shy as me to vent, and say what I want to express. It is contagious and magical. But when you are discussed, scrutinised and judged in public, not as an actor, but for your personal life, you can۪t complain. However, you sometimes feel helpless and terrible, especially if you are an introvert.”

Singh Rajput, credited for both his work in commercial and non-commercial films said it was a deliberate attempt to challenge himself because it was “necessary to be on your toes. Only then can you keep thinking, remain excited, and create an environment, where there is hope for creativity.”

Speaking about his next release, scheduled for 2nd September, ‘M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story’, the actor was excited to share some details about his experience of working with the India Cricket Team Captain and renownedsportsman for his cricket and leadership skills, “Ihave admired him for the past 10 years. I was intrigued by his thought process. To get an opportunity to get to know him up, close and personal was like winning a lottery ticket. I learnt a lot, and also cultivated a new skill of playing cricket while working on this film. I am so thankful to Kiran More (former cricketer) sir for helping me in my training.”

Singh Rajput is currently away shooting in Budapest as part of the schedule for his next venture ‘Raabta’ opposite Kriti Sanon.
