Sushant Singh Rajput, who has made an exceptionally successful transition from the small screen to Bollywood, has gone on record to say that some of the biggest stars in the world are from the television industry. The actor feels people in India need to stop treating television as a stepping-stone to cinema.

In no way do I feel television is a smaller medium. For me the size of the screen doesn’t matter. I just need to be in front of camera_ We must stop looking at television as a stepping-stone to cinema. Look at America. Some of their biggest stars are products of television,۝ Rajput told Bollywood Hungama.

Earlier this week, Rajput returned to the small screen to shoot for the final episode of Pavitra Rishta۪, which was the television show that made him a star overnight. The actor had left the serial when he decided to act in Bollywood but says he is grateful to its producer, Ekta Kapoor, for the opportunity.

Rajput is currently busy shooting for Dibakar Banerjee۪s Detective Byomkesh Bakshy۪ and will then move onto Shekhar Kapur۪s Paani۪ and Neeraj Pandey۪s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story۪.
