Surbhi Chandna named TV Personality 2019
Popular star Surbhi Chandna has been named the TV Personality 2019.
The actress has had an incredible year with her two shows ‘Ishqbaaz’ and ‘Sanjivani’ on Star Plus. In further celebratory news for the actress, Chandna moved up from No.7 position in 2017, then to No.8 last year, to No.1 this year.
Upon hearing the news, Chandna told Baddhan, “You know I think I must have done something really really good to get this kind of mad, immense love. I mean I don’t have any words. I’ve had an amazing 2019, coming back with ‘Sanjivani’ and on my home channel, Star Plus. Also to be getting appreciated for Dr Ishani – It’s not an easy character to play. The biggest addition to 2019 is the TV Personality and I am No.1 – I don’t believe it. Raj when you told me, I genuinely had to pinch myself – I am not kidding because today what I am is genuinely down to the support of the viewers, fans, the listeners. Everyone who has been a part of this journey.”
Chandna fought up stiff competition from Shivangi Joshi (Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) and Randeep Rai (Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai) who sat at No.2 and No.3 respectively. The biggest New Entry in the poll this year was ‘Bigg Boss 13’ star Asim Riaz, who occupied the No.4 position, followed by Mohsin Khan from ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.
The poll compiled by Sabras Radio, is the UK’s biggest and only to celebrate Indian television. It is held every Christmas on Sabras Radio.
