Supreme Court refuses to ban ‘Padmavati’ release

The Supreme Court has refused to ban Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming epic ‘Padmavati’.

Judges in court said that it was up to the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) to decide whether the film should release on 1st December 2017.

The film has attracted controversy with some Hindu groups, mainly in Rajasthan over the way some characters are being depicted in the historical film. Bhansali has already on a number of occasions rejected reports that there will be any intimate scenes or any love angle between Padmini and Khilji.

‘Padmavati’ stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. It releases on 1st December 2017 globally.
