Sunrise Radio’s Shabnam Sahi will be taking a “sabbatical” from her work. The popular presenter has been
Sahi took to her Facebook with the following message, “And its time for a break. After 25 years of broadcasting across two continents, I’m heading for a sabbatical from Monday the 5th of July.
My last sabbatical gave me two kids, made me a writer, took me home to India for 6 months for a phenomenally exciting TV show and blessed me with opportunities I’d never imagined for which I’m grateful to this day.
These 2.5 decades have passed in the blink of an eye and what started in the historic corridors of All India Radio Delhi in 1995 has now brought me to the most iconic Asian station in the UK, Sunrise!
So many precious friendships, such amazing memories….and the incredible loyalty and warmth of my listeners who make it the BEST job in the world.
2 more weeks of radio and then it’s time to pause and reflect on new adventures.
Hoping to be back on the airwaves soon though. As everyone knows, broadcasting is not just for Christmas, it’s for life.”
