Sunrise Radio rebrands Buzz Asia to Buzz Radio

Sunrise Radio Group’s youth Asian radio station, Buzz Asia has now become Buzz Radio.

The change came into effect on Monday 7th January. Previously, the station was known as Club Asia and became Buzz Asia when Avtar Lit acquired it in late 2009.

The station has changed its on-air imaging, branding and website to coincide with name change.

Whilst an official confirmation is awaited from the Sunrise Radio Group, it is likley the change took place to widen the perception of the station, which up until now has had the ‘Asian radio’ tag associated with it. Buzz Radio is likely to increase its non-Asian output in weeks to make it more attractive to the London commercial sector.
