Sunrise launches ‘Punjabi’ radio on DAB Midlands

As exclusively revealed on BizAsia.co.ukearlier this month, Sunrise Radio has now launched its new radio station ‘Punjabi’ on DAB in the West Midlands.

‘Punjabi’ will broadcast round the clock from Sunrise Radio’s headquarters in Southall. The service promises to cater for all ages and taste. According to a release there will be something for everybody from the golden oldies to the latest Bhangra mixes.

‘Punjabi’ will primarily be catering for the Punjabi community in the area serving the needs of the audience that are not fully met by the current blend of regional broadcasters.

The launch of the new station took place at 14:00 today creating quite an excitement and surprise amongst listeners and followers of Punjabi music on DAB radio.

The release further added; “With the Punjabi community making up a large proportion of the West Midlands, the station is destined to be a great success.”

‘Punjabi’ is Avtar Lit’s fifth station after the successes of Sunrise Radio, Kismat Radio, Yarr Radio and Time FM.
