Sunny Leone: “People assumed I would be taking my clothes off”

Sunny Leone - Dholi Taaro featured

Sunny Leone made headlines for her appearance in ‘Big Boss 5’ (2011) and then also for her Bollywood debut in ‘Jism 2’ (2012). Her profession as an adult entertainer had mixed reactions but she is as simple as it gets. In an interview to the Hindustan Times, she revealed a little bit about herself.

Sunny Leone was noticed for her previous profession but that’s not who she is. “When I participated in Big Boss, people assumed that I would be jumping on the couch and taking my clothes off. But that’s not who I am in real life. The audience saw that I’m a regular girl who was learning to cook and talk in Hindi. If it was any other way, I wouldn’t be here doing Bollywood movies, would I?”

Leone also doesn’t see herself any different from another Indian woman. “I don’t see myself as acrusader. I am simply a girl who wants to act and make a career in Bollywood. When people see me giving interviews on TV, or when I make public appearances, they see that my personality is not what they had imagined based on my previous job.”

Leone feels that confidence, is how comfortable one is in their skin. “Ultimately, it all boils down to how confident and comfortable you are with your own sexuality. How you want to express your sexuality is completely your prerogative, not society’s.”

Leone has five films up for release. Her film ‘Ragini MMS 2’ (2014) did well, and the song ‘Baby Doll’ was also one of thepopular chartbustersof 2014.
