Sunny Deol’s ‘Mohalla Assi’will finally see light of day. The film, starring Deol and the popular Sakshi Tanwar was initially supposed to release in 2012, but got delayed, as producer Vinay Tiwari had gotten consumed with other projects. Now, Tiwari has confirmed that ‘Mohalla Assi’ will release this year, in October or November.

To IANS, Tiwari provided a little insight into the plot of the film, and revealed that the actors are all set for a promotional spree. He said, “Sunny Deol is playing a poor Brahmin who is a Sanskrit teacher. He is extremely upset with foreigners who damage the Banaras ghats by smoking ‘ganja’ and ‘bhang’. Despite the long delay, the actors are eager to promote the film. The actors keep calling me to release the film at any cost and we are planning to release it by October or November. Narendra Modi has popularized Banaras on a global level and our song picturized over the river Ganga will be a good promotional tool.”

‘Mohalla Assi’ is based on Kashi Nath Singh’s book, ‘Upanyas’. Sunny Deol’s next,’Ghayal Once Again’is also slated for a13th November release. It is the sequel to his popular 1990 hit, ‘Ghayal’.
