Sunny Deol still finds it difficult to talk to father
In the past fathers were seen as hard, strong, unemotional men, which became hard for their young to turn to them about their own issues. As time has gone on, this image has changed drastically. However for actor Sunny Deol this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Gearing up to launch his son into the industry, Deol spoke about the relationship with his own father. “As a kid, I would never talk to dad (Dharmendra). If I needed something, I would tell my mom and she would convey it to him. Even today, it۪s the same. I still can۪t stand before papaji and talk to him face to face. We have been brought up with that kind of respect and values,” Deccan Chronicle reported the actor admitting.
He went onto add that his son does the same thing, “Karan too sends all his messages to me via his mother.”
Though Deol does have a slight understanding of what his son’s generation are about. “I guess they are very understanding. We need to give them enough space. Not only Karan, each kid of this generation is culturally motivated,” he added.
Deol’s project for Karan will commence after the release of his own film ‘Ghayal Once Again’. Talking about his plans with his son, the actor expressed, ” I will be concentrating on bringing Karan to the celluloid. I won۪t reveal the genre of the movie now, but I will focus on the script, story and direction. The only thing I can say is that this launch pad for Karan will be an earthy and wholesome story.”
Here’s hoping this father and son duo will be on better talking terms after their project.
