Sunil Rohra has put in his papers at B4U Network operations as global Chief Executive Officer after ten years in the role. According to sources, Rohra’s last day in office is on Tuesday (14th January 2014).

During his tenure, Rohra has been responsible for changing the subscription model of B4U Movies and putting it under the VIEWASIA bundle in UK. Plus, he expanded the broadcaster’s reach in North America by setting up a sales office in New York.

Other highlights included the acquisition of movies after striking deals with the likes of ZEE Network and Yash Raj Films to expand its film library. He also helm the launch of B4U’s Bollywood Glitz magazine and injected money on local programming such as ‘Achievers’, ‘Curry On’ and ‘The Vibe’. He also branched out in film distribution in the UK with its B4U Films brand. Rohra was also responsible for the network’s biggest ever revamp late last year by dropping the corporate red logo it was associated with since its launch.

It is not known why Rohra is leaving the company. He joined in 2004. Prior to B4U Network, he was with ZEE Network UK for nearly 13 years. The UK market has become much more competitive and its likely the broadcaster is hoping to strengthen the B4U brand further with a slew of changes this year.

Sunil Rohra states, “My time at B4U has been memorable, I have seen the company grow into one of the most prominent Bollywood Networks worldwide. It was a difficult decision and it is a sad time for me to part ways with a company that is close to my heart however I have decided it is time to move on and explore new ventures. I am proud of what has been achieved during my time as CEO and I wish the team the very best of luck for the future.”

BizAsia understands a director from the B4U board will take over Rohra’s vacant position.

At the time of filing this article, BizAsia was awaiting a response from B4U Network.
