Star Plus’ recently launched stand-up comedy ‘Mad In India’ has been embroiled in controversies surrounding the poor viewing figures of the show.

Grover has denied the show going off-air and refuted rumours of celebrities not wanting to be a part of the comedy madness. He told Times Of India, “There’s is nothing like that (Laughs). There’s a separate celebrity management team who looks after all this. In fact today I got a call from two Bollywood people who want to visit the show. So please don’t believe any such thing. The show is very much there and it’s not going off-air for now.”

Despite poor viewing figures, the actor who dons the role of ‘Chutki’ will continue on Star Plus, “I am an actor and my job is to perform so I am not bothered about the TRPs, TVT’s or numbers. I am giving my 100 percent and I am very positive that the show will work. I can confidently say that the show has started doing good. It’s marginally better than before. So we are going step by step.”

Grover quit ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ a few months ago over monetary issues. He went on to launch ‘Mad In India’ but the response has been lukewarm. There has been talk of Manish Paul, the host of the show quitting. Star Plus has denied that ‘Mad In India’ is going off-air.
