Sunidhi Chauhan received Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2014

Sunidhi Chauhan has added yet another feather to her beautiful cap. The beautiful songstress was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at a ceremony held in Mumbai on 30th April.

The singer took to her Twitter account excitedly, “Just received the most Prestigious Shri Dadasaheb Phalke Award.. Feel so honored and blessed! It’s all you people.. Thank you!”

In many ways, Chauhan is a leading face of the Indian industry, after all, she won the first-ever televised talent contest, ‘Meri Awaaz Suno’, way back in 1996. With an uncommonly beautiful voice ranging from sweet to sultry, Chauhan is considered as one of the most melodious singers of this generation. Given her versatile talent, it’s not surprising that Chauhan is the most well-recognised young singer in Bollywood today.

Other recipients of the prestigious honour this year include comedian Kapil Sharma, veteran actor Jeetendra, TV actress Hina Khan and TV actor and anchor Gautam Rode.
