Sun TV to spend Rs 4 billion this fiscal on movie acquisitions
South Indian broadcaster, Sun TV is spending close to Rs 4 billion towards movie acquisition this fiscal to ensure its ratings sustain in the southern-language markets.
Sun TV has already invested Rs 2 billion in the first half of the year and intends to spend another Rs 800-900 million each in the remaining two quarters. Some of the titles it has acquired are ‘Billa II’, ‘Naan Ee’, ‘Paagan’ and ‘Thadaiyara Thaakka’.
The broadcaster recently bought the IPL Hyderbad franchise for Rs 4.25 billion until 2017.
