‘Sultan’ bags three awards at Tehran Film Festival

Despite having released back in 2016, Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sultan’ continues to win hearts around the world. News has it that the filmmaker and its actors Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma won three awards for the film during the Tehran International Sports Film Festival.

According to Ahmedabad Mirror Zafar was awarded the title of Honorary Diploma for the Best Director of Long Narrative, where Khan and Sharma won the same award for the actor/actress section. Talking about the honour, Zafar was reported stating, “‘Sultan’ has cut across borders, cultures and languages with its powerful story, performances and honest belief in the life changing impact of a sport.”

“The team and I are very thankful to the organisers at Tehran International Sports Film Festival for their appreciation and love,” he went on to add.

With the success of ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2018), Zafar is now working on his forthcoming project titled ‘Bharat’.
