Sujoy Ghosh feeling the pressure of ‘Kahaani’

With the release of ‘Kahaani 2’ fast approaching, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has revealed that he is feeling the pressure for it to be as successful, if not more, than it’s prequel ‘Kahaani’ (2012).

“The pressure of being compared to ‘Kahaani’ is of course playing on our minds. The journey of the character has to be liked by the audiences,” Deccan Chronicle reports Ghosh explaining.

He went on to add, ” ‘Kahaani’ was liked by the audiences because of its woman centric theme and the strong character played by Vidya, so we decided to make Kahaani 2 hoping to get the same respect and appreciation as the first part.”

Starring Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal, it has also been revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will also make an appearance in the film. However, Ghosh isn’t ready to spill any beans, when asked about Bachchan’s character, “You will have to wait and watch the film.”

However, the filmmaker was full of praise for the actor,” Amitabh Bachchan is the finest actor even in today’s times. The exuberance in his performances then and now — are undoubtedly loved by trillions of audiences worldwide. I really enjoy watching him onscreen and off screen as well. Amitji is a fantastic actor.”
