Sujoy Ghosh denies approaching Deepika Padukone for role

It was recently rumoured how filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh was in talks with actress Deepika Padukone for a role opposite Saif Ali Khan in his next. However contrary to belief Ghosh didn’t approach for the project the actress at all.

“No, I am not even considering her (Deepika) for my film,”��Hindustan Times reported Ghosh stating. Rumours did the rounds when the film maker was in Kolkota at the same time as Padukone who was filming for her forthcoming venture ‘Piku’. Apparently, Ghosh who is also close to the films director Shootjit Sircar, visited the sets and was seen talking to the actress. From the it was assumed that he was pitching his idea to Padukone, for her to play the lead.

Despite Padukone not being his lead, it has been revealed that Jacqueline Fernandez was approached to do the exact role. This time the reports state Fernandez revealing the news her self, as she explains, “Yes, I have been approached by Sujoy. But it�۪s too early to talk about it as the paper work is yet to be done. I am excited about reuniting with him (after ‘Aladin’; (2009) and sharing screen space with Saif.”
