Suchitra Sen passes away

Legendary actress Suchitra Sen has passed away at the age of 82 after a cardiac arrest.

Sen was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata three weeks ago for treatment of a respiratory tract infection. She died this morning in news confirmed by daughter actress Moon Moon Sen. She leaves behind her grand-daughters Riya and Raima Sen, who are also actresses.

Suchitra started her acting career in 1952 in Bengali films, followed by an award winning career in 1955 in Hindi films like ‘Devdas’ and ‘Aandhi’. She was renowned for her work with actor Uttam Kumar.
