Subhash Ghai to cast ‘Khal Nayak’ Sanjay Dutt in next

It’s only been a month since actor Sanjay Dutt was released from Yerwada jail and already a comeback movie is on the cards with the actor being spoilt for choice! Top- tier directors such asVidhu Vinod Chopra, Sanjay Gupta, Umesh Shukla and Siddharth Anand were spotted at Dutt’s residence and yet it appears old friend, showman Subhash Ghai, has made the cut and grabbed Dutt’s attention!

The director-actor duo who have given blockbuster hits like ‘Vidhaata’ (1982), and ‘Khal Nayak'(1993) in the past, are set to team up again after almost two decades.

Although Ghai had wanted to cast Dutt in a role a few years earlier, nothing had materialised due to the latter’s prison sentence and the idea was shelved. However, now that Dutt is a free man once again, the director is keen to make up for lost time and kick start his latest project!

A close source to Subhash Ghai, according to Deccan Chronicle, has said that the director is currently working extensively to write the kind of script that would “perfectly suit the new Sanjay Dutt”. He has reinvented himself to face this new challenge of directing “a new actor and a stronger man from within”. The source further adds that Ghai is positive he will complete working on his script soon.

Maybe revisiting the magic of ‘Khalnayak’, India’s 17th highest grossing Hindi movie of all time, is just what the director needs whose production house has failed to give a hit since the release of ‘Taal'(1999).

BizAsiais certainly excited about this collaboration – let’s hope an announcement is made soon and that too in true “showmanship” style!
