Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, which once topped STAR Plus’
popularity charts is currently the channel’s least
performing soap. The channel has been in talks with the
producers of the soap, which was once the innovation of
Aruna Irani. However, she later walked away from the
drama due to health reasons.
The soap has been waning in the ratings for the past few
months but STAR is to give it one last chance to
resuscitate its future. First thing’s first, the soap
will be chopped in duration to a 30-minute weekly
capsule (currently it is shown on an hourly basis).
Contrary to reports, the channel will not be axing the
soap just yet. It has given it until April of 2005 to
see how the soap performs on its new focused storylines
surrounding Mahi’s revenge on Veer (Ankur Nayar) and
Heer’s (Neha Mehta) love saga. A decision will only be
made after that. Keep it with Biz Asia for the latest.
