STAR UK to finally launch ‘VOI’ & ‘Nach Baliye’

STAR UK officials have confirmed to BizAsia.co.uk that it will finally be launching ‘STAR Voice Of India’ and ‘Nach Baliye 3’ in January.

Both shows carried heavy Indian branded sponsorship banners, which in their original state cannot be shown in the UK as it�۪s against media regulator Ofcom’s rules. Subsequently, these programmes went under “masking”, which means the removal or blocking out of certain brands.

A STAR source told us that after months of clearing the branding issues, the tapes had finally been passed and were ready for transmission starting first week of January.

‘STAR Voice Of India’ and ‘Nach Baliye 3’ launched earlier this year in India and proved to be successful for the channel.

‘STAR Voice Of India’ is hosted by Shaan and the judging panel consists of singers Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Aadesh Shrivistav.

The ten celebrity pairs announced for the ‘Nach Baliye 3’ competition this season are Sweta Keswani-Alexx O�۪Neil, Karan Patel-Amita Chandekar, Rakhi Sawant-Abhishek Awasthi, Shakti Kapoor-Shivangi Kapoor, Vikas Sethi-Amita Sethi, Karan Grover-Kavita Kaushik, Aamir Ali-Sanjeeda Sheikh, Kashmera Shah-Krushna Abhishek, Kiran Janjani-Ritu Janjani and Pooja Bedi-Hanif Hilal.

In January, STAR Plus UK plans to overhaul its weekend programming with the launches of ‘STAR Voice Of India’ and ‘Nach Baliye 3’, as well as the UK editions of ‘Great Indian Laughter Challenge’.
