Star TV UK has confirmed a slew of major schedule changes for the launch of its cookery reality show ‘MasterChef India’.

As reported on BizAsia earlier, the shows, which will be affected are ‘Veera’, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and the latest name to be added is ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’.

Starting from Monday 26th January, ‘MasterChef India’ will take the 21:30 slot in the UK, which means the longest running show on Indian television, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ will move to 22:30. ‘Veera’, which airs currently at 22:30 will move to weekdays at 17:00. The repeat telecast of ‘MasterChef India’ will air at 18:00 resulting in the ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ shifting to 17:30.

It is speculated that ‘MasterChef India’ is taking the 21:30 slot in the UK due to sponsorship of the show. ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ brings in around 100,000 viewers to the 21:30 slot. ‘Veera’ and ‘Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir’ changes will take place in India also.
