Star TV UK jubilant over ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ success

After BizAsia exclusively revealed the whopping ratings for the premiere of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ on Sunday afternoon in the UK, Star TV UK has been celebrating the news.

In viewing data provided by BARB, the Salman Khan movie, which premiered on Star Plus UK between 13:30 and 17:00, delivered an audience of 153,300 viewers – the highest ever for an matinee movie premiere on an UK Asian TV channel. Furthermore, the telecast managed to invite a staggering 303,000 viewers to sample the movie. On an average, all these viewers watched the movie for 1.75hrs.

Not only that, Star Plus’ viewership in the afternoon was 12 times more than any Asian TV channel. Star Plus also recorded the highest ever Whole Day Average Viewership in the history of Asian Television in UK since 2013 (Source: BARB, Inds).
