Star TV India tweaks broadcast timings for IPL 2018

Star TV India has come to an arrangement with BCCI for broadcast timings of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.

This is the first year Star TV India will be telecasting the lucrative tournament after it notched up the rights for a humongous Rs. 16,347.50 crore.

Confirming the news to IndianTelevision, Rajeev Shukla, IPL Chairman said that the 20:00 game will now start at 19:00, while the 16:00 will take the 17:30 slot.

He was cited saying, “The broadcaster has requested for a change in timings. By and large, the GC has accepted it. It gets too late in the night if the game starts at 8 pm. There will be an overlap but the broadcaster says it has enough channels to show the games simultaneously.”

The IPL auction takes place on 27th and 28th January 2018.

IPL 2018 kicks off on Wednesday 4th April 2018.
