Star TV changes Star One to Life Ok this month

Star TV has confirmed that its youth orientated channel, Star One will become Life Ok from later this week.

There had been various rumours that Star One was going to be known as Star Desh but this has now been rejected instead opting for a quirkier English name – Life Ok. The channel will not carry the ‘Star’ prefix.

After seven years of existence, Star One ceases operations on Friday 16th December. Life Ok takes over from Sunday 18th December at midday with a complete new schedule and a set of new on-air graphics.

The channel۪s philosophy is “cherishing what you have”. Life OK will remind and invite everyone to value the things that well and truly matter in life like family ties, relationships, valuing traditions and peace of mind, while in the eternal quest for more.

Daily programme highlights on the channel include ‘Devon Ka Dev…Mahadev’ at 20:00, ‘Tum Dena Saath Mera’ at 20:20, ‘Meri Maa’ at 21:00 and the new series of ‘Sach Ka Samnaa’ at 22:20. ‘Dil Se Di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava?’, ‘Sapno Ke Bhanwar Mein’ and ‘Hum Ne Li Hai…Shapath’ are other new shows on the channel.

It was around May this year, when Star India decided to push Star One for a complete overhaul in order to give it more mass appeal and roped in Ajit Thakur, former business head, Sony Entertainment Television (SET), to head the new channel in August 2011.
