STAR scoops ‘Chup Chup Ke’ making & more

With films like ‘Krrish’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Taxi No.9211’ and ‘Bluffmaster’ already under its belt, STAR Network has even more reason to celebrate.

It has been clinching movie deals thick and fast! It has won the satellite rights to air the much anticipated romantic comedy movie ‘Chup Chup Ke’, which releases on 9th June.

The film stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Neha Dhupia. As well as bagging the movie rights, the channel will air a 30-minute making of the film in the UK, US & UAE.

Interestingly, in the UK, UTV appears to have faithfully frozen down on ZEE and STAR as its main marketing partners and has been alternating between the channels. ZEE UK showed the making of ‘Rang De Basanti’ followed by a contest for ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’, both the films were hits and the latter will also be screened on ZEE Network.

STAR, which has the satellite rights for ‘Taxi No.9211’, ran an enormous contest involving lead star John Abraham in the UK and is now gearing up to promote ‘Chup Chup Ke’, starting with the making of the film this Saturday. ZEE Music has also been actively playing the hit tracks of ‘Chup Chup Ke’.

What remains to be seen is which of the channels will clinch the pre-release marketing of the Shah Rukh Khan-starer ‘Don’.

‘The Making of Chup Chup Ke’ will be shown on STAR Plus this Saturday at 18:30.
