With ‘Shree Ganesh’ ending, Star Plus UK has confirmed that it will not be replacing the slot with another mythological. Instead, the popular broadcaster has scheduled the re-run of ‘Dance+ 5’.
The four mythological shows band, which consists of ‘Mahabharat’, ‘Shree Ganesh’, ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev’ has been running between 18:00 – 22:00 during lockdown due to the lack of original shows. Clearly, viewer fatigue is taking its toll on ratings for the channel and therefore from Monday 22nd June, ‘Devon Ke Dev Mahadev’ will shift to 19:00 replacing ‘Shree Ganesh’ and ‘Dance+ 5’ will re-run at 21:00 daily.
This is the first time Star Plus will air a flagship reality show during a primetime slot outside weekends. ‘Dance+ 5’ was a huge ratings winner first time around for Star Plus UK and it is hoping the show repeats the same success again.
Incidentally, Sony TV UK has been on a ratings high recently due to the re-run of ‘Indian Idol 10’ in the weekday 18:00 slot.
