Star TV UK has grabbed four sponsors for the telecast of its first Urdu drama, starting this weekend.

As revealed exclusively on BizAsia last month, Star Plus UK will broadcast ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ every Sunday night from 18th October. It stars Imran Abbas, Maya Ali, Waseem Abbas and Hina Bayat. Mera Naam Yousuf Hai۪ was aired on A Plus in Pakistan earlier this year and did well in the ratings.

The channel has roped in Royal Nawaab as title sponsor for the show, Pepe’s and Armaan Foods as associate sponsors. These sponsors came via House Of Advertising agency. The show also attracted one sponsor – Farani Javid Taylor Solicitors – from Alliance Advertising. With the response Star TV UK has received with this initiative, no doubt the channel will be launching many other Urdu fictions in weeks and months to come.

‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ launches as a part of Star Plus UK’s new Sunday night schedule. Starting from 18th October, the channel introduces Amitabh Bachchan’s much talked about new show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ at 20:00, followed by ‘Mera Naam Yousuf Hai’ at 22:00.
