Star Plus to air Screen Awards on New Years Eve

With the exit of the Big Star Entertainment Awards from Star TV, Star Plus has confirmed to BizAsiaLive.com that it will air the Star Screen Awards next month, as a part of its New Years Eve offering.

The on-ground event, which takes place in December, will be one of the first Bollywood award shows of the year to air on television. For the past few years, Star Plus has broadcast the Big Star Entertainment Awards as its New Years Eve special show. However, with ZEE India acquiring a stake in Reliance Broadcast Network’s Big FM radio station, the awards will no longer air on Star Plus.

The big contenders at this year’s Star Screen Awards will be ‘Sultan’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Pink’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and ‘Neerja’.

Star Screen Awards will air on Saturday 31st December on Star Plus.
