Star Plus & Star Gold to release official viewing figures

Star TV’s two flagship channels, Star Plus and Star Gold UK will release official viewing figures data next week, BizAsia.co.ukcan confirm.

Channel sources confirmed that it has joined audience measuring body, Broadcasters Audience Research Board (BARB) to officially measure the number of viewers watching the channel. Star Plus will be the first premium Asian TV channel to be reported by BARB, with Star Gold being the first.

Up until now, only Sunrise TV, Zing, Prime TV and Wedding TV Asia were the only Asian TV channels being reported by BARB. In the last few weeks, Sunrise TV has beaten runner up Zing in the ratings.

The first Star BARB numbers are being earmarked for release next week, with the network already celebrating what could be a huge coup for the two channels.
